Use and Attitude to the Complementary and Alternative Therapy of Pediatric Cancer Patient Caregiver

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate caregiver¡¯s use and attitude to complementary and alternative therapy for pediatric cancer patients. Methods: The study subjects were 80 caregivers of pediatric oncology patients at the four university hospitals located in D metropolitan city. The data were analyzed percentage, mean, standard deviation chi-square test, t-test and ANOVA with SPSS PC 14.0 program. Results: Caregivers of leukemia patients, patients with moderate symptoms, and with chemotherapy had more positive attitude toward complementary and alternative treatment. Conclusion: Caregiver¡¯s attitude of cancer oncology patients on complementary and alternative treatment was neutral but there was demand for the provision of reliable information about scientific and systematic treatment of complementary and alternative treatment.
